About Fashion Takes Action

Fashion Takes Action (FTA) is Canada’s first non-profit fashion industry organization focused on sustainability. We work with industry and consumers, with the goal to shift behaviour toward more positive social and environmental impacts.

Key Role & Responsibilities

Program Development

  • Support Program Lead in finalizing lesson plans already in development and updating curriculum connections for each province

  • Coordinate with translator to ensure all materials are available in french

  • Represent FTA and the MCMW program at potential exhibitions/conferences and events, host information booth and/or presentations/workshops, when necessary

  • Respond to online inquiries 

  • Help to build, update and maintain national educator database

Communications

  • Work independently, reporting to Education Lead, and in conjunction with FTA Communications Specialist, to develop and deploy outreach and communications to schools (via e-blasts, newsletter and social media)

The role will involve the following opportunities:

  • Build time management, teamwork, and administrative skills through support of key staff in meetings (ie minutes, invitations) 

  • Increase community management and engagement skills by engaging in our youth focused social communities on, TikTok, IG and FB

  • Develop writing skills and gain a deeper understanding of program curriculum across multiple grades

  • Build confidence in outreach and communications to FTA’s educator network

Our ideal candidate would have most, if not all, of these skills:

  • Bilingual; Fluent in both English and French, with solid written skills in French (this is required)

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Education

  • In-class teaching experience and understanding of the Canadian education system

  • Demonstrated interest in, and curiosity around climate education, sustainable fashion, ethics and the environment

  • Ability to work remotely/independently, and as part of a small team

  • Highly detail oriented, with exceptional organizational and time management skills

  • Strong capabilities in Google Suite, Canva and Mailchimp

  • Solid verbal and written communication skills

  • Proactive and highly skilled at identifying problems and brainstorming potential solutions

This position will be 30 hours per week at $21/hr for 10-16 weeks depending on funding awarded.
