Cynthia Lucar Diaz

Cynthia Lucar Diaz is a sustainability and public policy leader with nearly two decades of experience advising organizations on embedding sustainability into business strategy and navigating public policy impacts. She has led successful and impactful sustainability initiatives, championed diversity and inclusion, and expanded partnership opportunities that resulted in creative solutions and bold action for change in the nonprofit and public sectors. She excels at charting a shared vision, guiding strategy, shaping policy, implementing sustainable programs, and fostering cross-sectoral partnerships.

As an Advisor at a regional government, she provides strategic advice on a wide range of environmental and climate change issues including waste management strategy, policy and programs, and drives circular economy initiatives. She sits on numerous industry committees and working groups guiding advocacy efforts and standards development. In addition to her work, she is an active volunteer, most recently as a Board Director at a non-profit focused on early childhood development and education as well as former Chair of an association working towards food system sustainability.

Cynthia holds a graduate degree in Public Policy and Administration from Toronto Metropolitan University, an undergraduate degree in International Studies from York University, and a certificate in Community Investment from Mount Royal University.
