Fashion for Good is the global initiative that convenes brands, producers, retailers, suppliers, non-profit organizations, innovators and funders in a pre-competitive space, to support and embed breakthrough technologies into the fashion supply chain. As brands seek sustainable textiles to use in their collections, a new wave of innovative fibres and fabrics are emerging. Be it reducing the chemicals and water used in manufacturing processes, increasing the use of recycled or biomaterials, or shifting towards vegan alternatives of animal fibres – the industry is changing its approach to materials as part of a wider drive towards becoming more sustainable. This session will give an overview of Fashion for Good as well as explore some of the disruptive material innovators that are part of their ecosystem.
