Jorge Conesa is project coordinator at the Fair Trade Advocacy Office (FTAO) and lead of the FTAO’s work in the field of fair and sustainable textiles.
He has a master’s degree in international trade, and working experience in trade promotion, EU institutions and civil society. In the past he has been the main advisor to the Member of the European Parliament who was rapporteur of the 2017 European Parliament’s Resolution on the EU flagship initiative on the garment sector. He is now leading the work of the Fair Trade movement at EU level to push for a new legislative framework which enables a renewed textile sector in which fairness and sustainability are the norm.
