The Carbon Neutral Certification, administered by Carbon Trust, requires organizations and products to quantify, reduce, and offset greenhouse gas emissions according to PAS 2060, an internationally recognized specification for carbon neutrality. To achieve certification, a company must measure their carbon footprint, develop a qualifying explanatory statement, including a statement of commitment, timescale for achievement, carbon management plan and targets for GHG reductions, and a credible plan backed by investment to achieve ongoing emissions reductions. They must also purchase high-quality offsets to compensate for all remaining emissions.
