Melissa is FTA’s Board Secretary and leads our HR Committee.

She is the Editorial Director of Advisor’s Edge, Investment Executive, Conseiller, and Finance et Investissement, which are national financial services publications owned by Newcom Media Inc. Asan award-winning journalist, Melissa turns technical subject matter into accessible content for sophisticated audiences. Her reporting has been cited in university syllabi, in textbooks and to national regulators. She is also an experienced moderator and speaker, and is regularly asked to judge industry competitions, including the Responsible Investment Association Leadership Awards.

Melissa started at Advisor’s Edge in 2011. Prior to that, she was managing editor of Corporate Knights, a North American magazine focused on clean capitalism. As part of her role, she managed the Responsible Investing Guide, Best 50 Corporate Citizens and other sustainability-focused rankings. From 2013 to 2017, Melissa chaired the board of Point of View magazine, Canada’s magazine about documentary culture. Melissa is a graduate of the Schulich School ofBusiness at York University.
