Leah Barrett brings over three decades of practical global apparel industry experience from working in manufacturing and export development in India, buying offices in Hong Kong, and manufacturing, entrepreneurship, and education in Canada. Her unique area of expertise is hand embroidery which distinguished her brand Jabberdust. She teaches fashion supply chain management and sustainability at George Brown College. She has a masters in Sustainability Studies, and pursues research in sustainable fashion related to user-centred solutions, shared value growth, the creative process and cultural sustainability. Leah advocates against forced labour and for better oversight of buying as a solution to improving conditions for future industry practitioners.
