While we had hosted a few clothing swaps prior to this one, it meant a lot for us to be spreading awareness among those working in the conventional fashion industry. Our message was loud and clear that the items you find in a swap aren’t garbage with armpit stains and misshapen tops. When well-heeled fashionistas look in their closet for items they no longer wear, there’s certainly some treasures to be found.
Swapping is not only wallet friendly, but it means you’re giving a new life to a garment that either sits in your closet collecting dust, or that is destined for landfill. So its a win-win in our books!
FTA went on to host a dozen or more swaps before the pandemic forced us to hold virtual events, but we will resume these again very soon!
