Who Makes our Clothes?

Students learn about the people who make our clothes and how fashion impacts the lives of garment workers.

Our friends at Fashion Revolution have done a great job of raising awareness for the people who make our clothes, and the role that we play as individuals to ensure that garment workers are treated fairly. There are more than 60 million garment workers worldwide, and 75% are women; many do not share the same rights or protections that most people in the west do.

In this one-hour live virtual workshop, students will learn how globalization of the fashion industry has impacted the lives and wellbeing of garment workers; what the “true cost” is of our clothing, understanding fair and living wages, and how human rights violations are still rampant in today’s supply chains.
